Saṃsāra

As I grapple with the idea of mortality, I sometimes grow weary of consistently incorporating this theme into my work. But it's an inescapable reality; we all go through our individual battles with our inner demons, and that's why I create.

My aim is to come to terms with the fact that we will all eventually return to the earth. The positive aspect of this lies in what we leave behind to improve the world. In the initial installment of this series, the phrase "We do not mourn the loss of those who die fulfilling their destinies" accompanied the artwork. These words have become powerful motivators in my life, influencing my daily actions. I strive to become a better person, a more skilled artist, and a responsible member of the planet.

I offer assistance wherever I can and share my knowledge with younger and older generations when opportunities arise. I understand it may sound pretentious to state these aspirations, and I can almost hear my younger self shouting “wanker” from afar, but it's often from a distance that negativity is expressed. I like to think that deep down, those who criticize have an inner desire to become better individuals and align their true selves with their external personas.

As I have grown older, I have come to realize that leading by example is an important role to play for anyone in any position of influence, no matter how small the role.

The seeds of growth that we leave behind in this game of life can carry values for the many decades that will follow from the day we depart this life. I like to think that this approach leaves me with a sense of comfort for the day I am gone.
