THE STORY:
“Metamorphosis” is a representation of alternate responses to circumstance. Landing safely, whole and untouched by the journey, there is no need to change. Only the broken have the impetus to become something better than they were. Sprout new roots, evolve and grow. A new creature emerging from a chrysalis fashioned by adversity. “Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.”
Once again as you can see here, Salvador Dali has deeply inspired my creations. Whether I like it or not, I am heavily influenced by his work and no matter what I do, elements of his mind will always sneak their way into my surrealistic paintings.
Metamorphosis was a vision that came to me in an instant! It smacked me in the face like I imagine a punch from Mike Tyson would feel. A feeling like this is unstoppable and the urge to start painting was like running onto a Rugby field…. pumped up and ready to go like the old days!!
This is not your regular still life painting or pear artwork. It is spliced with many aspects of Contemporary art and is designed to take you to another world of thought and contemplation.
